Ross Brand made this inexpensive heater to keep his RV warm enough that it doesn't get musty and rusty while in storage. There isn't much to the device -- a juice can with both ends cut out over a 100 watt light bulb. The light bulb produces just enough heat that the juice can acts like a chimney and keeps the air moving. "It does not heat much," reported Ross, but he said it works just fine.

You can purchase a dehumidifier rod at most hardware stores, does the same thing UDL rated.
They are very inexpensive & work off a standard outlet. We need them in our closets to ward off the humidity.
BTW I think the picture might be upside down.
This is great - IF - you have your unit hooked up to electricity. We have two trailers, neither of which is hooked to electricity when in storage.
We used buckets of cat litter, those little closet de-humidifiers and lots and lots of fabric softener sheets when storing our summer trailer up north -- worked like a charm! Opened it up this week and not a bit of musty odor anywhere.
Another good idea to get rid of musty odors when you don't have an electrical hookup is using those bottles of oils and scent sticks. They last a long long time, and the scents naturally wick up the sticks and release into the air.
We have used the fabric softener sheets for years - mice don't like them and when you open it up it smells so nice :)
